TENNIS COURT ACTIVITY CITY

TENNIS CAN BE PLAYED BY EVERYONE

Our tennis court is fenced and full size. The court surface is artificial grass. You can rent tennis rackets from us.

Tennis balls can be bought for NOK 99 / 4 pack.

The matches are fought either one against one (singles), or two against two (doubles). The players stand against each other on opposite sides of the net. The ball is played back and forth over the net, and the players try to hit the ball so that the opponent has difficulty being able to hit it back.

The ball can only bounce once inside each player's half of the court. You can also choose to play the ball directly.

POINTS AND RULES

A player wins points if the opponent does not reach the ball for a return, the return ends up outside the marked area of the court or the return ends up in the net. The game starts with one of the players "serving", i.e. putting the ball in play. For the service to be accepted, the ball must hit the opponent's service square, a square area inside the opponent's half of the court. A ball from the serve cannot touch the net. If a serve hits the edge of the net and then ends up in the opponent's service box, the first serve must be taken again. The server has two attempts to serve. If both attempts fail, the opponent gets points.

GAME – SET – MATCH

Each set consists of "game". To win a game, you need to win four exchanges of balls. The points are counted as follows: victory in one exchange gives a 15-0 lead. Two exchanges of balls gives 30-0. Three gives 40-0. After victory in four exchanges in a row, it is called a "game", and the game is won.

To win a set, you must win at least six games. There is also a requirement that the set must be won by two games. A set can thus be won with the numbers 6-0, 6-1, 6-2, 6-3 or 6-4. If the score is 6-5, the match will continue. 7-5 is the next chance of victory.
